I love giving gifts. I enjoy shopping for family and friends and finding something that’s not only meaningful but useful.
I’ve made it a mission over the last few years to buy from places that give back. UNICEF has a great gift shop and I've also purchased items from Grounds & Hounds, Conscious Step, and Chicago’s Bright Endeavors. This year, I discovered Out of Print – a shop with great books and book-related gifts. Best of all, with every purchase, Out of Print donates books and supports literacy programs around the world.
Of course, nothing beats shopping local. Although I’m in the Chicago area, last year I ordered a few books from The Elliot Bay Book Company for my Seattle-based friend. Saved shipping costs and resources and supported an indie bookstore – check and check! ~Kathleen, LitNuts Cofounder
