The Edinburgh International Book Festival begins August 13 and runs through August 29. From its beginning in 1983, the Book Festival has grown to include more than 900 events attracting 250,000 visitors, making it the largest public celebration of the written word in the world. Today, the Book Festival partners with the University of Edinburgh to present a "hybrid" festival...a range of in-person and online events for booklovers around the world.
