Kudos to Girl Scouts Everywhere

Kudos to Girl Scouts everywhere today! On March 12, 1912, the Girl Guides (later renamed the Girl Scouts of the USA) began in the United States. Many successful women were Girl Scouts in their youth, including Katie Couric, Venus and Serena Williams, Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, Queen Elizabeth II, who was a member of the Girl Guides, the U.K. version of Girl Scouts, and Kathleen Meyer, who was a member of Troop 508 in DeKalb, Illinois, and co-founder of LitNuts.

“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.” —Maya Angelou
