Presented by the Friends of the North Hollywood Library and Friends of the Woodland Hills Library (both in Los Angeles), SEANCES is suitable for adults and older teens. Join award-winning author Lisa Morton, who will offer an illustrated talk based on her book, Calling the Spirits: A History of Seances. She will also answer questions on how and why this fascinating (and, to some, fearful) practice evolved and spread over many centuries, and how it attracted the attention of Harry Houdini, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and many others.
