When histories converge...

Juneteenth is now a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. One way to mark the occasion is by joining the Black Laughs Matter online comedy show, hosted every Saturday by comedian/actor Terry Dorsey, who is originally from Chicago but is now in the San Francisco Bay area. Online attendance is free, but limited to the first 100 participants. Saturday, June 19, 10 pm CDT.

Also this weekend: California Writers' Club book launch party, featuring eight authors whose books were published in 2020/21. We had the pleasure of meeting with CWC members earlier this year, and know it to be a vibrant group of writers. Join it to learn more and to hear excerpts from recently released books. Saturday, June 19, 3 pm Pacific Time.

“Won’t it be wonderful when Black history and Native American history and Jewish history and all of U.S. history is taught from one book. Just U.S. history.” ~Maya Angelou
